NotesThe time accuracy of the World Clock is a function of the user's computer system clock since it is mathematically derived from this source. All time zone clocks are shown in Standard Time. However, during the months of March/April thru September/October, countries in the northern hemisphere are in the summer season and may be observing Daylight Savings Time (DST) or "Summer Time". If so, add one hour to the Standard Time shown above. During these months, countries in the southern hemisphere are in the winter season and are using the Standard Time as shown above. During the months of September/October thru March/April, countries in the northern hemisphere are in the winter season and are using Standard Time as shown, while those in the southern hemisphere are in summer and may be observing DST or "Summer Time". If so, add one hour to the Standard Time shown above for DST. There are many countries that do not observe DST, and those that do, may not change over to DST at the same dates. Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), is considered as the universal time zone located at the zero meridian and is used as a worldwide reference for time correlation. The time changes one hour for each change of 15 degrees in longitude. In the 24 hour system, 2400 hours and 0000 hours have the same meaning; however, 2400 is usually used with the date of the ending day and 0000 with the new day's date. UTC does not observe or make provisions for DST. World locations of the same longitude have close to the same local time. There are approximately 24 standard time zones around the globe which are an integer offset of hours to UTC time. However, there are some countries which do not use the standard time zones and may be a non-integer offset of hours to UTC time.
